In this policy, we wish to inform you about how personal data are collected and processed by the non-profit association BE-Cats (BE 0720.527.381). Our policy is fully in line with the new European GDPR legislation on the processing and protection of personal data .
Personal data means any information about an identified or identifiable person. For our activities, we collect personal data from members and suppliers. In particular, we collect administrative data and contact details. this allows us to contact you or do business with you. These personal data may include contact details, such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, among others.
Your personal data may be collected in various ways, including:
Via a visit to our website
By filling in a web form on our website
Through contracting
Via communication by e-mail, letter, fax or telephone
We may obtain your personal data directly from you or through third parties. In the latter case, we ask these third parties to confirm that the information was lawfully obtained and that we have the right to use the data obtained from them.
We use and process your personal data for purposes including the following:
Managing our commercial trade relationships (suppliers)
Administration staff, intermediaries and applicants/trainees/volunteers
Informing about our activities, events, products, services, special offers or newsletters related to our non-profit organisation

If we need to use/process data for purposes other than those listed above, we will contact you before using it so that you are in a position to refuse its use.
All personal data you communicate to us as an applicant/intern/member/volunteer will be used to evaluate your application or internship application and to inform you of possible interesting (job) offers for you.

to the extent necessary for the performance of a contract you have entered into with us or to take necessary steps to reach a contract
for the protection of legitimate interests, to the extent that this outweighs your rights and interests.
We do not share your personal data with third parties unless we have received your prior consent to do so; we are required to do so in the context of a regulation or legal procedure; or when we are requested to do so by legislative or judicial bodies. The exception to this rule is that we do share data with our partner Basketball Flanders.
In the exceptional case that the asbl BE-Cats transfers personal data to organisations or companies with which it cooperates, your explicit prior consent is requested for this ("opt-in"). This consent may be withdrawn at any time, by sending an e-mail to (e-mail address vzw: info@becatsfan.be).
Your personal data will be stored and used:
as long as this is necessary for the purposes of the processing, as stated in this Privacy Policy
as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, settle disputes or enforce our agreements
Your data is considered strictly confidential.
BE-Cats asbl has developed security measures adapted on a technical and organisational level to avoid the destruction, loss, falsification, modification, unauthorised access or notification by mistake to third parties of personal data as well as any other unauthorised processing of these data.
You always have the right to:
Access, inspect and obtain information on personal data processed by us.
Get incorrect, incomplete, inappropriate or outdated data corrected.
Request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Restrict the processing of personal data applicable to you. - Oppose the processing of your personal data or withdraw your previously given consent to a specific processing of personal data. This right to object only applies if there are sufficiently justified and weighty reasons for doing so. No opposition is possible to the processing of your personal data if this is necessary for the performance of contractual obligations/legal obligations.
Obtain the personal data provided to us and transfer it to another controller.

To avoid any unauthorised disclosure or processing of your personal data, we request that you also enclose proof of your identity with your application, preferably a copy of the front of your identity card. We strongly advise you to make your passport photo invisible and state that it is a copy.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Authority.
We reserve the right to amend our privacy policy on a regular basis. We therefore recommend that you review this policy periodically.
