In this policy we wish to inform you about the way personal data are collected and processed by the non-profit organization BE-Cats (BE 0720.527.381). Our policy is fully in line with the new European GDPR legislation on the processing and protection of personal data.
Personal data means any information about an identified or identifiable person. For our operations, we collect personal data from members and suppliers. In particular, we collect administrative data and contact information. this allows us to contact you or do business with you. This personal data may include contact information, such as name, address, phone number, email address, among others.
Your personal data may be collected in a variety of ways, including:
Through a visit to our website
By filling out a web form on our website
Through communication by e-mail, letter, fax or phone
We may obtain your personal data directly from you or through third parties. In the latter case, we ask these third parties to confirm that the information was lawfully obtained and that we have the right to use the data obtained from them.

Management of our commercial trade relationships (suppliers)
Administration staff, intermediaries and applicants/trainees/volunteers
Informing about our activities, events, products, services, special offers or newsletters related to our non-profit organization

All personal data you communicate to us as an applicant/intern/member/volunteer will be used to evaluate your application or internship application and to inform you of possible interesting (job) offers for you.

The exception to this rule is that we do share data with our partner Basketball Flanders.
In the exceptional case that the asbl BE-Cats transfers personal data to organizations or companies with which it cooperates, your explicit prior consent is requested ("opt-in"). This consent may be withdrawn at any time, by sending an e-mail to (mail address vzw: email@example.com).
Your personal data is stored and used:
as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, settle disputes or enforce our agreements
Your information is considered strictly confidential.
The asbl BE-Cats has developed security measures that are adapted on a technical and organizational level, in order to avoid the destruction, loss, falsification, modification, unauthorized access or notification by mistake to third parties of personal data, as well as any other unauthorized processing of these data.
You always have the right to:
Access, inspect and obtain information about the personal data processed by us.
Get incorrect, incomplete, inappropriate or outdated data corrected.
Request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Limit the processing of personal data applicable to you. - Oppose the processing of your personal data or withdraw your previously given consent for a specific processing of personal data. This right to object only applies if there are sufficiently justified and weighty reasons for doing so. No opposition is possible to the processing of your personal data if this is necessary for the performance of contractual obligations/legal obligations.
Obtain the personal data provided to us and transfer it to another controller.

To avoid any unauthorized disclosure or processing of your personal data, we ask that you also attach proof of your identity to your application, preferably a copy of the front of your identity card. We strongly recommend that you make your passport photo invisible and state that it is a copy.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Authority.
